Satish Balram Agnihotri blog - In a Land of Dirt Roads

Boycott all Chinese goods
Thundered the mighty patriots
No rush, whispered the reality
There will be many caveats

The Monument is too precious
It is a symbol of unity
So what, if it is made by
A purely Chinese entity

They have the necessary skills
And the wherewithal
We just give the raw material
And they do it all

The ports are too important
Don’t trifle with their structure
Let us exploit the Chinese talent
To build our country’s infrastructure

Solar energy is crucial
For the nation’s development
No one else can give white wafers
Can’t you see our predicament?

The bilateral trade is crucial
We don’t have the financial might
They are such a large economy
Can we afford to have a fight?

Prey, then for the boycott clarion call
Who will be the takers
Why? all grandparents and all youngsters
who will boycott the toys and firecrackers

Their emotional sacrifice
Will certainly not go in vain
You keep watching our trade deficit
It will soar once again.
